Bubble wrap is getting a makeover to save space.

When I first saw this story, I thought what does bubble wrap have to do with outer space? Then realized they mean space inside a package, which made way more sense!

 

The new version is laid out in columns of connected air pockets, so when you push on it the air just gets pushed into neighboring bubbles. Bubble wrap is so popular, there’s even a Facebook group called ‘Popping Bubble Wrap’ that has more than half a million members.

 

Some of the reaction to the news on twitter used words like UNTHINKABLE and OUTRAGED!  How can they do this to us?? Don’t they know, that every adult, turns into a child, just at the sight of bubble wrap???’
