Britax is recalling more than 200,000 child car seats of its car seats because of a potential safety defect with harness adjuster buttons that could stick and cause the shoulder straps to loosen.

The recall is for several models of the Advocate, Boulevard and Marathon ClickTight car seats, all made between August 1st, 2014 and July 29th, 2015.

Britax learned of the problem because of a customer’s Facebook post last month. They did an audit and found out that about 1% of the harness adjuster buttons in their inventory had the same problem, though no injuries have been reported.

Britax will notify customers that registered the car seats affected by the recall and send them a lubricant that can be applied to the red harness adjuster button to fix the potential flaw. If you didn’t register your seat, you can figure out if your seat is part of the recall by looking at the date-of-manufacture label under the car seat cover.

You can get additional information on the recall on this Britax web page, by emailing Britax.Recall@britax.com or phoning 1 (888) 427-4829 for the U.S. and Canada or (704) 409-1699 for all other countries.
