Starting next week, Winnipeggers will be able to order their Starbucks coffee before they even set foot in the store. The company’s mobile order and pay system launches in all of its Winnipeg locations on March 15. Story via CBC Manitoba

The C.R.T.C.’s ruling on “reasonably priced” cable packages came into effect last week and don’t worry if you’re confused about it (I am too!) The just: Cable providers must offer a $25 “skinny basic” option that will focus on Canadian content as well as local channels. The 3 big cable providers in Manitoba have all introduced their packages and all of them charge a rental fee for HD boxes and receivers.  Below is what MTS, SHAW and BELL will offer in Manitoba:

MTS: 24 channels for  $25 with a  $3/month box rental fee

Channels include CBC, CTV and Global, as well as major American broadcasters like ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX.

Shaw: 36 channels for $25  with a $5/month box rental fee.

Channel selection is similar to MTS

Bell: 30 channels for $24.95 and a minimum $7/month fee for their HD receiver.

 No major American broadcasters like you would with MTS or Shaw.  BUT you will get stations like CPAC & The Weather Network among others.
