A new iPhone is here!

The iPhone 7 was announced Sept 7th (well that was a clever announce date, hey?) and has a few changes over previous models. Overall the changes are good, but the most divisive one seems to be the headphone system for the new iPhone.

Apple's new, wireless AirPods were announced as an accessory with the iPhone 7.

Plug it in, plug it in!

The biggest change in the iPhone 7 models is arguably the absence of a traditional headphones jack. Instead Apple will ditch this 150 year old technology (yup, that’s how long the traditional 3.5mm audio jack has been around) to use the lighting connector (the jack you plug your charger in) as a way to use your headphones.

The phone will ship with a new set of headphones that work with the lightning connector AND give you an adapter so you can plug your old headphones into the lighting adapter. This seems pretty cool, but it’s the wireless headphones that might end up being a bit of a problem.

Where’d I leave my #@X&$ headphones!?!?

Apple has announced new, wireless EarPods for to go with your iPhone. These ear buds connect wirelessly with your phone. Your phone will automatically know when you have them in your ear. And you’ll never have to worry about a cable dangling from your ears again. However, you MAY have to worry about losing them. These things are tiny, and without a cable to connect them all, they’ll be easy to lose track of (just like your mittens when you were a little kid).

At $219 Canadian for a set of wireless AirPods, you’ll definitely want to make sure you’re keeping these in a safe spot!
