International recognition has kept Faouzia in the spotlight since 2016 with announcements and performances including:

  • August 2016: One of two winners of Canada’s Walk of Fame Emerging Artist Music Mentorship Program. This led to Faouzia’s first trip to Toronto culminating in her debut performance at Canada’s largest intersection, Yonge & Dundas Square.
  • May 2017: Faouzia takes the International Songwriting Competition 2016 Grand Prize. The coveted contest reviewed 16,000 entries from 137 countries making her the first Canadian to win this title in the award’s 16-year history.
  • Summer 2017: Over a three-month period, Faouzia performed four mainstage shows including: Winnipeg’s Interstellar Rodeo (August 2017), Canada Summer Games (August 2017), Canada 150 at The Forks with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (July 2017), and the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival (June 2017).
  • September 2017: On September 5, Faouzia was announced as the Grand Prize winner of the Unsigned Only Music Competition. Her single “Knock On My Door” took the top spot from more than 6,000 entries submitted from 90 countries. This is the first time a teen has won the overall Grand Prize since the competition launched six years ago and the second time a Canadian has taken home this honor (Wes Mack won the Grand Prize in 2013). In addition to winning $20,000 in cash (US) and a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music’s five-week Summer Performance program, Faouzia also receives one-on-one mentoring from a group of upper echelon music industry executives from Atlantic Records, Razor & Tie, Sony Music Nashville, Island Records, and more.
