I hate to admit it but I sat at my keyboard today typing in :O…:C….:Q.

What I was trying to do was remember how the heck I type a blushing emoji when I’m not on my phone. Now, I am by no means a frequent user of emojis! But, sometimes a little smiley face or picture of a glass of wine says it better than words.

Let’s face it, the language of the internet has advanced – the 2015 Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year is officially called the ‘Face with Tears of Joy’ emoji.

But up until now, unless you’re on mobile, your tools to communicate in that language haven’t kept up. This genius gadget has been created by Emoji Works, and will make talking to your friends easier and more expressive than having to google “Facebook emoticons” and copy/paste them into your messages anytime you’re using your desktop.

You simply press the emoji button like you would the Ctrl key, then select the appropriate emoji key and – voila! – your emoji appears in your message.

There are 3 keyboards to choose from:

Basic (1 emoji per key) – For the basic emoji user. No judgement. This would be the one I’d want. US$49.95

Plus (2 emojis per key) – For the emoji love that has their favourites and need a little more expression. US$74.95

Pro (3 emojis per key) – For the person that talks only in emoji. The rest of us require a translator to interpret your messages. US$99.95

This is super smart too. The Plus and Pro models have full skin tone color modifier so your emojis can look like you instead of that random yellow, Simpson-esque skin tone.

The keyboards are compatible with OS X El Capitan, Windows 10 and iOS 9 for iPads.

You can preorder on the EmojiWorks’ website. They start shipping in December.
