There are many ways and places you can pay your respect in Winnipeg to the men and women that sacrificed, served our nation & fought for our freedom.

Archives of Manitoba — Nov. 10
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War, a display of soldiers’ letters has been set up in the archives’ foyer at 200 Vaughan St., and letters written by Manitoba soldiers who served in the Great War will be read aloud at a public ceremony that starts at 7 p.m. November 10th. The archives will be closed for Remembrance Day.

RBC Convention Centre
Winnipeg’s largest Remembrance Day service, hosted by The Joint Veterans Association of Manitoba and the Canadian Forces. Lt.-Gov. Janice Filmon presides. The service is open to everyone. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. The service begins at 10:45 a.m. but please be seated by 10:15 a.m.

Vimy Ridge Memorial Park
The Royal Winnipeg Rifles host the outdoor ceremony at the memorial to its 44th Battalion at the park at Portage Avenue at Home Street. Everyone welcome.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m.

HMCS Chippawa
Located at 1 Navy Way downtown. Open to the public.
The service starts at 10:30 a.m.

Royal Canadian Legions
Brooklands and Weston branches (1613 Logan Ave.) Lunch to be served afterwards.
Seating begins at 10:45 a.m. for the 11 a.m. service.

Charleswood Branch, Oak Park High School (820 Charleswood Road.) Light lunch and refreshments available at noon.
Guests must be seated by 10:30 a.m.

Elmwood Branch (920 Nairn Ave.)
A short service at the Elmwood Cemetery begins at 10 a.m., weather permitting.

Fort Garry Branch (1125 Pembina Hwy.) Light lunch provided.
Doors open at 8:45 a.m. for the ceremony, which begins at 10:50 a.m.

General Sir Sam Steele Branch (376 Salter St.)
Service begins at 10:30 a.m.

Henderson Highway Branch (3600 DeVries Ave.)
Guests must be seated by 10:30 a.m.

Norwood/St. Boniface Branch (134 Marion St.)
Fall-in is at 10:15 a.m. for a march to St. Philips Anglican Church on Tache Avenue. Service at 11 a.m. followed by a march back to the legion.

Prince Edward Branch, Alphonsus Parish Hall (341 Munroe Ave.) A luncheon to follow back at the legion.
Doors open at 10 a.m. The service begins at 10:50 a.m.

St. James Branch, Bruce Park
Outdoor service starts at 10:45 a.m. followed by a parade back to the branch.

Transcona Branch (117 Regent Ave. East.)
Parade forms up at the legion at 10 a.m. and marches to Blessed Sacrament Parish at 710 Roanoke St. Service starts at 10:30 a.m.

Ukrainian Canadian Branch (618 Selkirk Ave.) Refreshments to follow.
Service begins at 12:30 p.m.

West Kildonan Branch (1748 Main St.)
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for the service at 10:55 a.m.

Winnipeg Branch No. 1.
Service at Valour Road at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the cenotaph at the former branch at 626 Sargent Ave.

Winnipeg Beach Branch (20 Hamilton Ave.) A light lunch afterwards.

Doors open at 10 a.m. The service starts at 10:45 a.m.

Selkirk Branch, Selkirk Recreation Complex (180 Easton Dr.)
Service is at 10:30 a.m.

Stonewall Branch (459 Main St.)
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Service at 11 a.m.

Stony Mountain Rec Centre (117 School Rd.) Food and refreshments afterwards.
Doors open at 10 a.m. Service at 10:30 a.m.

Minto Armouries at 969 St. Matthews and McGregor Armoury at 551 Machray are also hosting ceremonies.
